Label Registration

Prior to exporting a new fish product to Brazil, the exporter must submit a Labelling Registration Form to apply for label approval from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply, at the Animal Origin Products Inspection Department in Brazil. While the document can be filled out in English or French, the exporter must have it translated into Portuguese for submission to the authorities in Brazil.

The Labelling Registration form can be obtained from Brazil through the importer, the Departamento Nacional de Inspecão de Productos de Origen Animal (DIPOA) or the Canadian embassy in Brasilia.

The last page of this document must be completed by the CFIA before it is sent to the Brazilian authorities for their approval. In order to sign the necessary attestations, the CFIA must be provided with both the filled out form in Portuguese as well as an English or French translation.

Once completed, the exporter must send the original form, plus two copies to the DIPOA for their approval.
