Canadian Establishments Approved for Export to the People's Republic of China
As of May 1, 2013, in order to export fish and seafood products to the People's Republic of China, establishments who process fish, and cold storage warehouses who store and handle these products as part of the supply chain for export to that country, are required to appear on the List of Canadian establishments approved for export to the People's Republic of China - PDF (209 kb) as maintained by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA).
Establishments wishing to be added to the List of Canadian establishments approved for export to the People's Republic of China - PDF (209 kb) must be in compliance with all aspects of the Fish Inspection Act and Regulations, including Schedule I and II.
Cold storage warehouses are exempted from Schedule I and II but are subject to the Licensed Cold Storage Warehouse Standard.
Procedure to Update the List of Canadian establishments approved for export to the People's Republic of China
To request inclusion on the above-mentioned list, please submit the following information to your local CFIA office.
- Registration or Export Licence number
- Full legal name as it appears on the certificate of registration or export licence
- Physical site address as it appears on the certificate of registration or export licence
- Type of establishment, i.e. processing Plant (PP), factory vessel (FV), freezing vessel or transportation vessel (ZV), cold store (CS)
- An indication as to whether the products to be exported include bivalve molluscs
- An indication as to whether the products to be exported include the use of any aquacultured raw material

Please note that all additions, amendments and deletions will be forwarded to the CNCA for approval. Please submit a request for such changes to your local office by providing the necessary details.
When an establishment already on the List of Canadian establishments approved for export to the People's Republic of China - PDF (209 kb) undergoes a name change and/or a registration number change, the documentation and labelling must identify the old registration or export licence number and legal name, as recorded on the list, until such time as the list is officially amended.
