E. coli O157:H7 cases in the Maritimes and Ontario

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has completed its investigation into FreshPoint Inc. and has concluded that there is no evidence available to identify a source of contamination. The CFIA has traced the lettuce to its origin in the United States and has shared its findings with the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). The CFIA verified that appropriate food safety controls were followed at each step of production, processing and distribution.
