The table below specifies the minimum type sizes for the following label declarations, based on the weight of the container [12(4), PER, 14, 15, CPLR]:

  • common name
  • the word "Canada" and the registration number within the inspection legend
  • net contents (net quantity)

  • common name and net quantity for products not for retail sale
1.5 mm
1 kg or less common name and net quantity for products for retail sale [14, 15, CPLR] 1.6 mm
> 1 – 4.5 kg all of the requirements listed in this section 3 mm
> 4.5 – 27.5 kg all of the requirements listed in this section 9 mm Table Note 1
> 27.5 kg all of the requirements listed in this section 12 mm
