Turkey Eggs

When processed egg is produced from eggs of domestic turkeys or from eggs of domestic turkeys and domestic chickens, the words "product of turkey eggs" and "produit d'œufs de dinde" or "product of turkey eggs and chicken eggs" and "produit d'œufs de dinde et de poule", as the case may be, must appear on the label [12(3)(d), PER].

This information may appear on any panel except the bottom.

Dried Albumen

If the processed egg is dried albumen, the words "pan-dried" and "séché sur plaque" or "spray-dried" and "séché par pulverisation" as the case may be, must be on the label [12(3)(e), PER].

Inedible Egg

Containers of inedible egg and processed egg, packed at a registered egg processing facility must be marked with [9(22)(a), PER]:

  • The registration number of the station and
  • The words "inedible processed egg – not for human consumption" and "Œufs transformés non comestibles – Impropres à la consommation humaine".

If inedible processed egg is being shipped inter-provincially it must be labelled with [20(1), PER]:

  • The words "Inedible processed egg – Not for human consumption" and "œufs transformés non comestibles – impropres à la consommation humaine" and
  • The name and address of the registered processed egg station in which the inedible processed egg was prepared.

Inedible processed egg imported into Canada must meet the labelling requirements set out in the Processed Egg Regulations, including the country of origin statement [22(1), PER].
