Foods may be represented as for use in a sodium-restricted diet if they meet the requirements of one of the following sodium (salt) claims:

  • free of sodium or salt;
  • low in sodium or salt;
  • reduced in sodium or salt; or
  • lower in sodium or salt. [B.01.508 & B.24.003, FDR].
