All products of biotechnology unapproved for unconfined release in Canada, such as plants with novel traits (including transgenic plants) and their products require a permit to import. See: D-96-13.
The prior approval process and import requirements for plants rooted in approved media (Canadian Growing Media Program) is subject to D-96-20.
