Additional Establishment Information Fact sheet

Additional establishment information in My CFIA. Description follows.
Additional establishment information in My CFIA – Text version

Now that you have a Safe Food for Canadians (SFC) licence, it's time to add additional establishment information.

What kind of information?

The CFIA is looking for information about your operational activities and mitigation measures.

Why should I provide this?

This information tells us more about how you manage risks at your establishment and drives the Establishment-based Risk Assessment (ERA) model that assigns you a risk level. Filling out this information will ensure you receive an accurate risk level for your establishment and will help inform the frequency and/or the intensity of future inspections.

When and how will the CFIA be using this information?

The Agency will be using this to inform program planning and adjust operational activities on a commodity-by-commodity basis starting in 2019.

Where can it be provided?

Once you have received your SFC licence, and every time you renew or amend your licence, you will be prompted to click on the "Additional Establishment Information" link in My CFIA. You can also update your information any time in My CFIA." Beside the paragraph is a graphic of hands typing on a computer.

Who can provide this information?

The Party Profile Manager will be able to input the information in My CFIA. It is recommended that the quality assurance or food safety personnel of the establishment be consulted.

Still have questions?

Tools and resources are available.

Contact us and put ERA in the subject line.
