February 9, 2016, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has not renewed the registration of Establishment 1763, Mannarich Food Inc., effective February 1, 2016. The establishment is a federally registered fish processing and exporting facility located in Markham, Ontario.

The CFIA has determined that adequate controls for food safety are not being reliably implemented in the facility on a consistent basis, which is in violation of the Fish Inspection Regulations.

Specifically, Establishment 1763 will not be able to process fish or seafood products for interprovincial and international export. The registration will not be renewed until the establishment implements the necessary corrective actions.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended, cancelled or refused renewal for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its website.
