October 19, 2018, Ottawa – On September 25, 2018, at the Yarmouth Courthouse, Nova Scotia Provincial Court of Justice, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) laid 10 charges for offences under the Fish Inspection Act and the Food and Drugs Act against Mr. Terry Banks, 3250385 Nova Scotia Limited, and M&T Trading Ltd.
Three of the charges allege that Mr. Banks, together with 3250385 Nova Scotia Limited and M&T Trading Ltd., falsified a number of export certificates for live lobster exports, contrary to subsection 9(1) of the Fish Inspection Act.
Three other charges allege that Mr. Banks, together with 3250385 Nova Scotia Limited and M&T Trading Ltd., sold food in a false and misleading manner, contrary to subsection 5(1) of the Food and Drugs Act.
Mr. Banks, 3250385 Nova Scotia Limited, and M&T Trading Ltd. will appear at the Shelburne Courthouse, Nova Scotia Provincial Court of Justice, located at 136 Hammond St, Shelburne, Nova Scotia, at 9:00 a.m. on October 24, 2018.

CFIA issues notifications of charges laid to inform the public when charges have been laid by CFIA's Enforcement and Investigation Services (EIS). In all cases, the subject of charges is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
