The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is collaborating with provincial public health partners, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Health Canada, as well as the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the United States Food and Drug Administration, to investigate an outbreak of E. coli infections in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and several U.S. states.

End of restrictions

The CFIA is no longer restricting the import of romaine lettuce and salads containing romaine lettuce originating from California. Proof of origin in no longer required.
