Sanitary Requirements for Export of Previously Imported Bob-Calves Re-Exported from Canada to the USA for Immediate Slaughter
HA 2610 (September 20, 2010)

  1. The bob calves were born in Canada or in the United States and were legally imported into Canada not more than 36 weeks ago.
  2. I have inspected the bob calves and found them to be free from any evidence of communicable disease and, as far as can be determined, they have not been exposed to any such disease during the preceding 60 days.
  3. Canada is free of foot-and-mouth disease, rinderpest, surra, and contagious bovine pleuropneumonia.
  4. The bob calves originating from the USA were put under an import quarantine for the duration of their stay in Canada because they did not meet the conditions required of cattle imported for permanent entry. No bob calves are under quarantine for reasons relating to an active disease control or animal health investigation. If Canadian bob calves are part of the shipment, they may also have been put in quarantine solely because of their contact with the US animals.
  5. If Canadian bob calves are part of the shipment, they were born on or after March 1, 1999 which is the date determined by APHIS to be the effective enforcement of a ruminant-to-ruminant feed ban.
  6. The bob calves are either individually identified with an official US ear tag they were bearing at the time of their import into Canada and/or an approved Canadian ear-tag.
  7. Based upon information provided by the exporter, the bob calves will be transported by truck from the point of entry in the U.S., along the following route:space to the following route
