New Caledonia has aquatic animal health requirements for imports of certain live aquatic animals and fish and seafood products.

Canada is currently in negotiation with New Caledonia for export certification for both crustacean based feed for aquatic animals and fish and seafood products for human consumption. For these specific commodities, until such time as a negotiated certificate is available, shipments exported without an aquatic animal health certificate may be detained in New Caledonia.
