Summary: The plants of 'ZF08-070' have an upright growth habit whereas the plants of 'Draper' have a semi-upright growth habit. 'ZF08-070' has a longer leaf than 'Legacy' and a shorter leaf than 'Draper'. The leaf length to width ratio of 'ZF08-070' is medium whereas it is large for both reference varieties. The upper side of the leaf of 'ZF08-070' is medium green whereas that of 'Legacy' is light green and that of 'Draper' is dark green. The calyx basin of the fruit of 'ZF08-070' is wider than that of both reference varieties. The fruit of 'ZF08-070' has high acidity whereas the fruit of both reference varieties have medium acidity.

Origin & Breeding History: 'ZF08-070' arose from a cross between 'Legacy' (female parent) and 'Draper' (male parent) made in 2004 in Lowell, Oregon, USA. From the resulting progeny, 'ZF08-070' was selected in 2008 for its fruit yield, firmness, intensity of blue skin and size; and storage quality.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trials for 'ZF08-070' were conducted by Expert Agriculture Team Ltd., in Chilliwack, British Columbia during the 2018 and 2019 growing seasons. The plots were arranged in a randomized complete block design. Each variety consisted of 3 replicates with 3 plants per replicate for a total of 9 plants of each variety. Plants were spaced approximately 60 centimetres apart within rows with 3 metres between rows. Measurements were taken from 9 plants or parts of plants of each variety. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test.
