Summary: The leaf blade of 'Bluesbrother' is medium to long while it is long for 'Verdon'. The upper side of the leaf blade of 'Bluesbrother' is dark to very dark green whereas that of 'Verdon' is medium to dark green. The neck of the fruit of 'Bluesbrother' is of medium length while it is long for 'Verdon'. The degree of creasing on the fruit of 'Bluesbrother' is medium whereas it is weak to medium for 'Verdon'.

PLANT: produces Dutch type fruit, gynoecious sex expression, predominantly two female flowers per node, parthenocarpy present, indeterminate growth type, length of first 15 internodes is medium to long

COTYLEDON: no bitterness

LEAF BLADE: horizontal attitude, medium to long, medium ratio of terminal lobe length in relation to blade length, shape of apex of terminal lobe is obtuse, dark to very dark intensity of green on upper side, weak to medium degree of blistering, absent or weak undulation of margin, very weak dentation of margin

Origin & Breeding History: 'Bluesbrother' (breeders reference 24-257 RZ) originated from a cross made in the spring of 2014, in the Netherlands. The resulting hybrid was selected for its stable fruit length during the growing season, health, extended endurance, darker leaf and yield. 'Bluesbrother' is a cucumber variety suitable for heated cultivation.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Bluesbrother' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number KMK1290, purchased from Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2018.
