COTYLEDON: no bitterness

LEAF BLADE: horizontal attitude, very short to short, small to medium ratio of terminal lobe length in relation to blade length, shape of apex of terminal lobe is obtuse, dark to very dark intensity of green on upper side, very weak to weak degree of blistering, absent or weak undulation of margin, very weak to weak dentation of margin

OVARY VESTITURE: white

PEDUNCLE: short

DISEASE REACTIONS: resistance to Cladosporium cucumerinum, present; moderately resistant to Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV) and powdery mildew (Podosphaera xanthii) (Px); no resistance to Corynespora blight and Target leaf spot (Corynespora cassiicola) (Cca), Cucumber Vein Yellowing Virus (CVYU) and Zucchini Yellow Mosaic Virus (ZYMV)

Origin & Breeding History: 'Quatrino' (breeders reference 19-720 RZ) originated from a cross made in the autumn of 2013, in De Lier, Netherlands. The resulting hybrid was selected for its short internode length, ease of harvest, stable fruit set, fruit quality, small fruit size and dark fruit colour. Initial trials were conducted in De Lier, Netherlands in 2014 while larger trials were set-up during different growing seasons in the Netherlands and abroad in 2015 and 2016. 'Quatrino' is a snack cucumber variety suitable for high wire cultivation.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Quatrino' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number KMK1200, purchased from Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2016.
