The sepals are green in colour.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Cante Ros' originated from a cross between two proprietary lines, made in January 1999, at Gilroy, California, USA. The resultant seed was sown in a greenhouse in March 1999 and in June 1999 a single plant was selected based on flower colour, flower form and plant habit.

Tests & Trials: 'Cante Ros' was tested in a greenhouse during the summer of 2004, in St. Thomas, Ontario. Trials included 15 plants of the candidate and reference varieties. Rooted cuttings were planted into 11cm pots on June 12, 2004. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants of each variety on August 16, 2004. All colour measurements were made using the 2001 RHS Colour Chart.
