PLANT: trailing growth habit
SHOOT: medium to long
STEM: green, absent or very weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration

LEAF BLADE: medium to long, medium to broad, medium to deep sinuses, weak to medium undulation of margin, closed to partly overlapping base, no variegation, medium green to dark green on upper side, medium to strong glossiness on upper side
LEAF ZONE: strong conspicuousness, positioned in middle, small

PEDUNCLE: long, absent or very weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration of middle third
INFLORESCENCE: medium length, medium to broad, medium number of open flowers, largest flower is medium length to long and medium width to broad
PEDICEL: longest pedicel is medium length, weak to medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration of upper third, no swelling
FLOWER: double type, medium to many petals, cross-section in lateral view is flat, no irregularly distributed stripes or blotches
SEPAL: moderate reflexing, very weak to weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration in middle of broadest sepal
UPPER PETAL: narrow to medium width, spatulate shape, entire margin at apex, upper side is brown purple (RHS 185B) at middle and along margin, lower side is purple red (RHS N57A), medium conspicuousness of stripes only, no zone at base
LOWER PETAL: upper side is brown purple (RHS 185B) at middle and along margin, lower side is purple red (RHS 58B), absent or very weak conspicuousness of stripes only, no zone at base
INNER PETAL: middle of upper side is dark purple red (RHS 53B)

Origin & Breeding History: 'KLEPP16381' originated from a cross-pollination conducted between the female parent 'PP-2008-0688' and the male parent 'PP-2006-0064' in the summer of 2010 by Martin Glawe in Stuttgart, Germany. The resulting seedlings were selected in May 2011 based on good branching, early flowering and dark purple red flower colour. The selected seedlings were evaluated in greenhouse trials from 2012 to 2016. A single seedling was selected for commercialization and designated 'KLEPP16831' in May 2012 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'KLEPP16381' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number PEL 2715, purchased from the Bundessortenamt, Hannover, Germany where the trials were conducted in 2017. Colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
