Origin & Breeding History: 'KLEPZ17435' originated from a controlled cross conducted by the breeder, Martin Glawe, in Stuttgart, Germany, in August 2011. The cross was made between the female parent variety 'Sunrise Cassandra' and the male parent variety 'Sunrise Paloma'. The resultant seedlings were selected in June 2012, in Stuttgart, Germany, based on plant growth habit, flowering time, flower colour, colour pattern stability, overall plant health and vigour. The selected seedlings were evaluated in numerous greenhouse trials from 2013 to 2017. A single seedling was finally selected for commercialization and named 'KLEPZ17435' in May 2017.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'KLEPZ17435' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number PEL 2771, purchased from the Bundessortenamt, Hannover, Germany where the trials were conducted in 2018. Colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
