Origin & Breeding History: 'Inpetroyma' originated from a controlled cross pollination conducted by the breeder, Mrs. Birgit Hofmann, in December 2013 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The cross was made between the female parent variety 'Surfinia Patio Red' and the male parent variety, 'Supertunia Vista Fuchsia'. The new variety was selected as a single plant from the resultant progeny in July and August of 2014 in Heidesheim, Germany based on its flowering time, production characteristics and outdoor performance. Asexual reproduction of 'Inpetroyma' was first conducted by tip cuttings in March 2014 in Heidesheim, Germany.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'Inpetroyma' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2018 in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference varieties. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 16, 2018. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety on May 23, 2018. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
