The pubescence of the tip of the lightsprout of 'Bridget' is medium to dense whereas it is absent or very sparse for 'Mondial'. The presence of secondary leaflets on the leaves of 'Bridget' is strong whereas it is medium for 'Mondial'. The plants of 'Bridget' are taller than those of 'Mondial'. The extent of anthocyanin colouration on the inner side of the flower corolla of 'Bridget' is medium whereas it is absent or very low for 'Mondial'. The anthocyanin colouration on the inner side of the flower corolla of 'Bridget' is of medium intensity whereas it is absent or very weak for 'Mondial'. The plants of 'Bridget' mature mid to late season whereas those of 'Mondial' are very late maturing.

PLANT: intermediate foliage structure where foliage is half open and stems are partly visible, semi-upright growth habit, matures mid to late season
STEM: low to medium extent of anthocyanin colouration located between the base and halfway up the stem
LEAF: large outline, intermediate to open, strong presence of secondary leaflets, medium green, absent or very low extent and absent or very weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration on midrib of upper side, absent or very low frequency of coalescence of terminal and lateral leaflets
SECOND PAIR OF LATERAL LEAFLETS: large, narrower than long
LEAFLET: absent or very weak waviness of margin, medium depth of veins, dull to medium glossiness of upper side, glabrous blade at apical rosette
INFLORESCENCE: medium frequency per plant, medium size
PEDUNCLE: absent or very low extent of anthocyanin colouration
FLOWER BUD: medium extent of anthocyanin colouration
COROLLA: medium to large size, medium extent and intensity of anthocyanin colouration on inner side, absent or low proportion of blue in anthocyanin colouration on inner side
TUBER: oval to long-oval, cream flesh
TUBER EYE: shallow, yellow at base

Origin & Breeding History: 'Bridget' originated from a cross between the varieties 'Sinora' and 'Agnes' conducted in 1999 at the Aardappelveredelingsbedrijf Jalving B.V. breeding station in Wezup, Netherlands. From the resulting progeny, 'Bridget' was selected in 2001. Selection was based on negative mass selection and disease resistances.
Tests & Trials: The comparative test and trial for 'Bridget' was conducted by Global Agri Services Inc. during the growing season of 2017 in Drummond, New Brunswick. The trial consisted of a single, 21.2 metre long row containing 70 plants spaced 0.3 metres apart for each variety. The distance between rows within the trial was 0.9 metres. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or 10 parts of plants, of each variety. The mean difference was significant at the 5% probability level based on a paired Student's t-test.
