The cross was made between female parent variety 'DSCAVPICHA' (Pink Charm) and male parent variety 11-729. From the resulting progeny, a single seedling was selected on December 31, 2014 based on its semi-trailing growth habit, flower colour and pattern, flower abundance and cold tolerance. 'DSCAVPIBLS' was first propagated by vegetative cuttings on December 31, 2014 in Moshav Mishmar Hashiva, Israel.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'DSCAVPIBLS' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring and summer of 2019 at BioFlora, Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 13 cm pots on April 16, 2019. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or 10 parts of plants, of each variety on June 26, 2019. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
