Mexico - Export requirements for milk and dairy products

Production controls and inspection requirements
- A recent version of the Requisitos Zoosanitarios Para Importación (RZPI) must be presented to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) prior to certification. - The following RZPIs are currently available for reference:
- 098-13-221-CAN-CAN (Leche y/o productos lacteos)
- 098-13-704-CAN-CAN (Complementos y/o suplementos con leche)
- 098-13-241-CAN-CAN (Preparaciones alimenticias)
- Dairy ingredients and dairy products must be subjected to one of the following heat treatments:
- At least 132°C for more than 1 second.
- At least 120°C for more than 60 seconds.
- At least 115°C for more than 120 seconds.
- At least 110°C for more than 180 seconds.
- At least 72°C for 15 seconds or more and with a pH lower than 7.0, or, subject to double pasteurization.
- Maturing process at the production plant for a minimum of 60 days, or certify that it reached a pH lower than 6.0 during processing.
- If imported milk ingredients were used in the final product to be exported to Mexico, they must have originated from a country that is recognised as free of foot and mouth disease (FMD).
- For composite products (CPs) containing:
- processed eggs
- Provide CFIA with supporting documentation regarding heat treatment of product.
- Provide necessary supporting documentation from competent authority for imported processed eggs.
- processed eggs
- honey
- Honey ingredient processed in establishment under official control.
- Provide necessary supporting documentation from competent authority for imported honey.
- hydrolyzed protein derived from bovine species
- Provide supporting documentation stating that hydrolyzed protein was derived exclusively from bovine hides, and that bovine originated from location free from FMD or that hydrolyzed protein was subjected to one of the heat/chemical treatment processes as defined on the certificate
