The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has cancelled the Safe Food for Canadians licence #4GHJ4NWK of North American Seafood Inc., located in Vancouver, BC, effective May 26th, 2020.

Prior to the cancellation, the licence of North American Seafood Inc. was suspended on February 7, 2020. During a licence suspension, licence holders may not conduct any activity that is identified in their licence.

The licence was suspended for failing to maintain records as required under Part 5 of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR).

There is no food recall associated with this cancellation.

North American Seafood Inc. was notified on May 12, 2020 of the grounds being considered for licence cancellation and provided an opportunity to be heard. After meeting with the licence holder regarding the cancellation, based on a review of the facts and submissions made, the agency determined that the licence holder failed to comply with Section 39 (a) of the SFCR and cancelled their licence.
